Flight Plan Apple Style

Malaysia uses the ICAO flight plan form for IFR plans.  Unfortunately, the template itself seems to be buried in some ICAO document, which I cannot locate on the ICAO web site.  Since all the forms I could find elsewhere on the Internet are in Word or PDF format, I had to create my own in Pages. Short Cross-Country to Bahtu Pahat and back

Not flying in the rain …

The weather has been dismal for the last few days.  Nevertheless, I got out of bed at 5 a.m. to be at the club for an 8 a.m. flight with Charlie Foxtrot.  Looking out of the window and following the rain radars and METAR/TAF on teh Internet started to show a picture that kept me from leaving the house.   Read the rest of this entry »

Today I picked up my PPL

I went to the club today to pick up my PPL. This weekend captain Singh is teaching the Ground School. I understand that quite a few new students have started this year.  Things look much better for the club after last year’s draught, and I am glad that it does.

My first flight with Charlie Foxtrot in 2011

Went to FRAS in the morning. Tahir was already there and Alvin arrive a bit later.

As usual Nurul arrived at 8 am with the keys. I discovered that Captains Singh and Muk were not coming to the club today. The Singh family is on holiday until Wednesday next week. Read the rest of this entry »
