It has been 10 years since I flew my Piper Archer III to Subang. Much has happened since. Unfortunately, none of it involved flying an airplane. I tried sailing, which is fun. But I don’t think blue-water cruising is for me. Instead, since I live in the Philippines now, I will make an attempt to convert my license to a CAAP (Philippines) PPL.
As for Malaysia, there is precious little information about the process of getting a Filipino PPL. I therefore thought, that I should write about my experience of flying here in the Philippines, so that it may help fellow pilots as well.
Of course, the first step will be to get a Medical Flight Certificate. Unfortunately, I am almost 60 now. And if I do not pass the medical exam., my journey back to flying may come to a forced landing in a few weeks.
I have also revived my blog posts from my time in Malaysia and Singapore. Some of the links don’t work anymore and I am sure that a lot of the information is not up to date either. Nevertheless, maybe the posts can serve as a little reminder of how things were 10 years ago. And, if anybody has updates that make any post usable again, please contact me: ingonoka@flyinasia.com
